The door

What the Shaker Lightwood Door Looks Like Up Close

Shaker Lightwood is a natural wood finish that adds warmth, texture and a rich, authentic feel. It uses the same Shaker door as every ECG finish: full overlay, recessed panel and a 2.5" solid hardwood frame.

Shaker cabinets take their name from Shaker furniture, which was usually left in plain, natural wood to show the grain. Shaker Lightwood is the ECG finish closest to that origin: the same five-piece door with the wood grain visible.

On Shaker Lightwood, a clear, tinted coat is hardened by UV curing at the factory, which seals the wood and keeps the sheen consistent across a full kitchen of doors and drawer fronts.

  • 5-piece solid wood door with an engineered center panel
  • UV-cured finish, color-matched to the door
  • 6-way adjustable soft-close hinges
  • 1/2" plywood box with a natural birch interior

Which mistakes should you avoid with Shaker Lightwood?

Three issues we see most often on lightwood kitchens.

  • Expecting every door to match exactly: natural grain and tone vary from door to door, which the ECG warranty treats as a natural trait, not a defect.
  • Putting Lightwood next to a different wood floor tone: when the floor is wood too, contrast it clearly (lighter or darker) rather than nearly matching it.
  • Skipping finished panels on an island: exposed island backs and ends need Lightwood panels or decorative doors to look like furniture.

What sets the price of a Shaker Lightwood order?

Pricing is by written quote; four factors move the total.

  1. Cabinet count and SKU mix. Drawer bases, pantries and corner units cost more than plain door bases and wall cabinets.
  2. RTA or assembled. Assembled cabinets include factory labor and ship in larger cartons; RTA ships flat.
  3. Finishing pieces. Fillers, panels, moldings and decorative doors are separate lines on the quote.
  4. Delivery distance and access. Freight depends on the delivery state and site access, and is confirmed with the quote.

All four finishes share the same sizes and construction, so two-tone kitchens order as easily as one finish.

FAQ

Shaker Lightwood Cabinet Questions

Is Shaker Lightwood real wood?

Shaker Lightwood is a natural wood finish on a 5-piece solid wood door with an engineered center panel and a solid hardwood frame. Grain and color vary naturally from door to door.

Will Shaker Lightwood change color over time?

Wood naturally mellows with age and light. Our warranty notes that variations in grain, color and aging are natural characteristics, not defects.

What finish pairs best with Shaker Lightwood?

Shaker White and Shaker Dove are the most common pairings for uppers. Shaker Evergreen works for a bolder, nature-inspired kitchen.

Are natural wood shaker cabinets more expensive than painted ones?

Not at ECG. Shaker Lightwood follows the same price structure as the painted finishes; the total depends on the cabinet count, format and delivery.

Do light wood kitchen cabinets work in a small kitchen?

Yes. A light, natural tone keeps a small kitchen bright while adding warmth; pairing Lightwood bases with Shaker White uppers keeps the room open.

How fast can I get Shaker Lightwood cabinets?

Quotes come back within 1 business day and orders are delivered in 1–5 days to your business or jobsite. There is no minimum order.

How much do lightwood shaker cabinets cost wholesale?

ECG prices Shaker Lightwood by written quote, with partner pricing for approved trade accounts. The total depends on the cabinet count and SKU mix, RTA or assembled, finishing pieces and delivery distance; all four finishes follow the same price structure.
